Weddings & Rentals

Hoyt Arboretum has four beautiful outdoor spaces close to downtown Portland available for weddings, picnics, retreats, and other events for groups up to 100 people, as well as one indoor meeting space. Rental proceeds support Hoyt Arboretum’s global tree collection and programs.

Stevens Pavilion Picnic Shelter

The iconic Stevens Pavilion is perhaps the most recognizable structure in the park. It’s appropriate for a variety of uses like family or company picnics, but the triangular A-frame with its big open timbers makes it especially popular for Portland weddings. Book early for the high season!

Redwood Deck

An open wooden platform located in our stately grove of redwoods and sequoias, the Redwood Deck is another popular location for wedding photography, intimate weddings, and other small gatherings. It’s often rented in conjunction with the Wedding Meadow for the natural contrast of open green and deep forest views.

Wedding Meadow

The open, rolling green of the Wedding Meadow, set among the trees and partially shaded by an immense Douglas-fir, offers the secluded feel of a deep forest glade. This spot is often rented in conjunction with the Redwood Deck.

Stone Circle

The Stone Circle is accessible via a short walk on the paved Bristlecone Pine Trail. With a backdrop of towering conifers, this location offers a quiet forested setting for small ceremonies amid Hoyt Arboretum’s global tree collection

Important Note About 2026 Dates

Please note that the Stone Circle at Hoyt Arboretum will be unavailable for permit reservations during 2026 due to a trail improvement project nearby.

Stevens Pavilion will only be available weekends effective January 1, 2026, and will transition into full closure September 14, 2026.

While the Stevens Pavilion, Redwood Deck and the Wedding Meadow are still available for permit reservations, it is possible that the sound from heavy equipment may be audible on occasion on weekdays during the late spring, summer and fall. The work site is about 1/3 of a mile from the Redwood Deck and there won’t be any visual impacts of the project at the Wedding Meadow and the Redwood Deck, however equipment storage and fencing will be visible from Stevens Pavilion.

Normal cancellation and refund guidelines apply.
