An outdoor area available for rent for weddings, picnics and other events at Hoyt Arboretum
Rental Information
Hoyt Arboretum’s Wedding Meadow offers the feel of wilderness within an urban area and is available for full-day rental.
The Wedding Meadow is located off the Arboretum’s Spruce Trail, about 1/3 mile from the Hoyt Arboretum Visitor Center. It is a rustic setting away from the main roads, with no buildings or structures visible.
Here are some important facts you may want to know if you are considering renting the shelter.
~ Capacity: 100 people.
~ Vehicle access is available for delivery of items such as canopies, chairs, tables, and port-a-potties rented from outside sources.
~ ADA accessible: No, but elderly and disabled persons may be driven down on the access road, Bray Lane.
~ No electricity, water or bathroom facilities available. It is possible to rent portable toilets at your own expense, or your party may use the restrooms at the Visitor Center.
Rental proceeds support the Hoyt Arboretum plant collections and programs and Portland Parks and Recreation.
All Park rules and regulations apply to use of the Wedding Meadow.

| Vehicle access to the Meadow is included as part of the rental. However, a deposit must be made when picking up the key to the access road and will be returned when the key is returned. Access keys must be picked up at the City Reservation Center (location and hours) in advance of the event. Keys may be obtained 48 hours before the permitted event. There are no access keys available at the Arboretum Visitor Center. |

Wedding permits are issued for the current calendar year only. Reservation are taken beginning the first business day of the new year and are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-in customers are given priority. Picnics and other events can be scheduled beginning the first week in March.
Picnic reservations must be made by mail or FAX (503) 823-2515 beginning the third Monday of February. Walk-in and phone-in reservations (using a valid Visa or MasterCard) will be accepted the first Monday in March. This includes both standard picnic as well as Special Use reservations. Please note that Special Use Applications must be made a minimum of (10) working days in advance of use to avoid paying a late fee. The Special Use Application/Processing Fee for events booked less than 10 working days in advance is $121.25.
