Recognizing birds by their songs and calls adds awareness and understanding to your birding experience. This guided walk is a great introduction to some of the common bird voices around us. Experienced birder Laura Whittemore will introduce you to the songs and calls of some of the common migrant songbirds of the Pacific Northwest. Tune in to bird sounds and take your birding to a new level! Suitable for any birder who wants to start learning the voices of birds.  Binoculars will be available to borrow.

About the instructor: Longtime birder and teacher Laura Whittemore loves to show beginners the tricks of the trade. She has taught classes for Portland Audubon and previously worked for Backyard Bird Shop. Laura holds a BA in Biology from Lewis and Clark College and has traveled in the US, Australia, South Africa, and Antarctica in search of birds.
