Let the natural world inspire your creativity in this 90-minute in-person Nature Journaling workshop led by artist Elizabeth Higgins. With prompts and gentle guidance, students will enjoy a “conversation with nature” by slowing down to notice and record what can be experienced among the trees of Hoyt Arboretum. Bring a sketchbook, writing tools and any other painting or drawing supplies you enjoy using. No experience is necessary. Classes are typically held at the Stevens Pavilion but are sometimes scheduled at other locations around the park.
Class size is limited; registration is required. Participants should plan to arrive 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time to check in. Please plan to bring your own supplies including brushes (size 8 or 10 round brush), watercolor set, pencils, pens and sketchbook.
Masks are no longer required for outdoor programs in Portland parks. If you are feeling any COVID-19 symptoms, please stay safe and stay home.
