Our evergreen trees don’t change too much during the winter time, but our favorite deciduous trees make a fairly dramatic transformation. Join arborist Casey Clapp of the podcast Completely Arbortrary on an education walk through Hoyt Arboretum focused on how to identify trees using only the clues left behind after their leaves fall away. This course will meander through the arboretum and show you how to identify common trees in our area, and provide a framework for what to look for when trying to identify an unknown tree without using the leaves.
Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
About the instructor: Casey Clapp is the co-creator and co-host of the podcast Completely Arbortrary, a weekly podcast about trees and other related topics. An ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, Casey is a modern naturalist focused on education and science communication centered around trees and their impact on the world around them. He specializes in urban forestry and arboriculture and is passionate about sharing his love of trees with the people around him.
